Анотація: Psychosomatic skin diseases are registered quite often, they account for 14–18% in the structure of skin pathology and are an urgent problem of dermatovenereology. At the same time, every fifth patient in psychotherapy hospitals has skin symptoms. One of the main causes of these diseases are psychogenic factors. The group of psychosomatic dermatoses includes such common diseases as psoriasis, herpes zoster, neurodermatitis, urticaria, eczema and others. According to clinical observations, the frequency of emotional factors among other causes of recurrence and recurrence of their dermatoses is 25–50%, and treatment of almost 40% of such patients is ineffective if we do not take into account the role of psychogenic factors in the development of these dermatoses. Due to this, psychosomatic skin diseases are an interdisciplinary problem, they need a comprehensive approach to their diagnosis, treatment and prevention of their exacerbations, which involve not only dermatologists but also doctors of other specialties. While examining the patient with psychosomatic dermatoses we should remember that skin is an organ of the human body, which is available for inspection by others, so any changes in the condition of the skin are a significant psychogenic problem for the patient, even if these are minimal manifestations. At the same time, due to the proximity of the skin and the nervous system in the genetic aspect, in the development of psychogenic disorders or psychological diseases in humans, skin changes or unintentional damage to the skin by the patient often occur. The causes of psychosomatic diseases are more mental processes of the patient than the direct physiological causes. If a medical examination cannot identify the physical or organic cause of the illness, or the illness is the result of emotional processes such as anger, anxiety, depression, etc., then the illness can be classified as psychosomatic. Those skin diseases that belong to the group of psychosomatic dermatoses ‒ psoriasis, lichen ruber planus, urticaria, eczema, neurodermatitis and others, doctor have to point out that it is important for the future specialist is not only to recognize clinical signs of the actual dermatological disease, but also to remember the neurogenic causes and triggers of psychosomatic diseases and distinguish from dermatological artifacts such as dermatomania (trichotillomania. onychophagia, neurotic excoriation), mutilation (simulation, aggravation, pathomia). psychopathy (mythomania, neurotic excoriations, arthritic cheilitis, etc.). Treatment of psychosomatic diseases directly depends on the dominant causes, the patient himself, his desire to be healthy and the competence of specialists and is a complex process that involves the interaction of specialists in various fields of medicine: psychologists, psychotherapists, dermatologists. Thus, while treating psychosomatic skin diseases it is important to have an interdisciplinary approach and understanding of the diversity of pathogenetic links of psychophysiological processes in the development and course of psychosomatic dermatoses, as well as mastering modern methods and techniques of treatment and rehabilitation of patients with psychosomatic skin diseases
