One of the reasons for this heterogeneity is the state of intracellular signaling networks and differentially expressed receptors. In particular, we have previously shown that the presence of CD150 expression on CLL B cells is a sign of a favorable disease outcome and is associated with higher efficacy to some chemotherapy drugs. Therefore, finding ways to upregulate cell surface CD150 expression on CLL B cells with low or absent CD150 expression is a perspective direction that may allow to regulate biological properties of malignant B cells.
