Conclusions. 1. Progesterone receptor gene polymorphism plays a significant role in the mechanisms of development and course of miscarriage, negative pregnancy outcome and low birth weight of newborns. 2. The probability of the threat of premature birth in different periods of gestation or termination of pregnancy with premature birth may depend on the presence of one or another polymorphism. 3. Genetic variability that can lead to changes in the biological functions of the progesterone receptor, the genetic polymorphism of the progesterone receptor is a major risk factor for complications of preterm birth
