The present monograph attempts to solve the problems associated with the tech-niques of endoscopic operations, their indications and contraindications, as well as their possible complications on the basis of many years’ experience gained by the coauthors who are the first in our country to commence a new development in thoracic surgery — endoscopic surgery of the airways, lung, and mediastinum. It also details the new endo-scopic thoracic surgical interventions, which are as much as possible approximate to the practical requirements of specialists who proceed to the study of endoscopic surgical techniques or who wish to develop their skills for them
