Аннотация: The textbook is a systematized account of the main subjects of the course in microbiology, virology, and immunology. It consists of an introduction and the following three parts: Part I. General microbiology (taxonomy, classification, morphology, physiology, genetics of micro-organisms, etc.). Part II. The theory of infection and immunity. Part III. Special microbiology (bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and the diseases caused by them). The systematics and the names of \ micro-organisms are presented according to the new international classification and nomenclature. The structure and chemical composition of bacteria and viruses are described on the basis of contemporary data obtained by light and electron microscopy and physico-chemical methods. The part dealing with special microbiology presents a brief characteristic of the most widely spread pathogenic groups of micro-organisms, describes their morphology, genetic apparatus, cultivation methods, antigenic structure, and other properties. The textbook is intended for students of higher medical schools

МИКРОБИОЛОГИЯ -- MICROBIOLOGY (обучение)
Аннотация: Modern medical microbiology has become an extensive science which cannot be fitted into the framework of a textbook, and this makes it quite difficult to compile a teaching guide. During the last few years those sciences which previously represented only small sections of microbiology such as genetics, immunology and virology have developed into independent sciences. In the scope of a textbook for students it is impossible to give complete information on all the causative agents which are known to medical science, and also on comprehensive methods of investigation of bacterial and viral infections
