Inhalation therapy (IT) ensures the delivery and the direct drug effect on the respiratory tract. Drugs for IT are used by inhalation devices that form an aerosol. The article describes the characteristics of the aerosol, the classification of nebulizers, as well as aspects of the use of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) for nebulization.
