Аннотация: According to preliminary results obtained, the development of hypoxemia caused by chest trauma affected lipid peroxidation stimulation leading to disruption of cell membranes structure and consequently cell death closing the ‘vicious’ circle, which in our opinion and according to the literature cause multiple organ failure. Objective. The aim of our study was to determine the features of morphological changes in cases of heart, lungs, liver injury after associated chest and both thighs trauma in rats. Methods. For histological examination the pieces of left ventricle tissues of heart, lungs and liver were used, which were fixed in 10% neutral formalin solution, dehydrated and embedded in paraffin blocks. Results. It was established that associated trauma of chest and both thighs in 1 day after the injury is accompanied by disturbances of hemodynamics in parenchymal organs due to venous congestion that occurs during the development of cardiovascular disease caused by traumatic shock. In the most severe period of maximum likelihood of complications, within 3 days, respiratory hypoxia, cardiovascular disorders, metabolic acidosis, and induced programmed cell death may develop. Conclusions. On the background of increasing pulmonary oedema (thickening of inter air sac membranes) caused by associated trauma of chest and both thighs in rats after only one day of the experiment hemodynamic changes in heart (low-blood supply of vessels in epicardium and isolated blood vessels of venous type) and liver (mainly plethora of blood vessels) were observed, which lead to morphological changes of myocardium within 3 days

Аннотация: Hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is a severe complication seen in advance liver disease. Its prevalence among cirrhotic patients varies from 4 to 47 percent. HPS exact pathogenesis remains unknown. In this review we summarized existing knowledge on the possible mechanisms and causes of the HPS. Pulmonary microvascular dilation and angiogenesis are two central pathogenic features that drive abnormal pulmonary gas exchange in experimental HPS, and thus might underlie HPS in humans. Despite these insights into the pathogenesis of experimental HPS, there is no established medical therapy, and liver transplantation remains the main treatment.

Аннотация: Hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is a pulmonary complication of liver disease characterized by arterial hypoxemia. Altered nitrogen (II) oxide (NO) production has also been implicated in the pathogenesis of the HPS. The present study was designed to evaluate the indices of NO system in the blood serum and lung tissue of animals with different models of hepatopulmonary syndrome. The total NOS activity was performed by monitoring the rate of conversion of L-arginine into citrulline. The total contents of NO metabolites was assessed by evaluation of their amount, which included nitrite ions that were previously presented in the sample (NO2–) and also nitrate ions reducted to nitrites (NO3–). We found a significant increase in total NOS activity in the lung tissue of Rats of both experimental groups as compared to control animals, but it was greater in the rats on the 28th day after the common bile duct ligation. The total concentration of NO2– + NO3– in the lung tissue of the rats in the experimental group N 1 also significantly increased (5.8 times) and in the rats of the experimental group with carbon – 4.5 times (P 0.001) vs the control group. Thus, in rats with different models of hepatopulmonary syndrome the activation of nitroxydergic process by a significant increase in nitrogen (II) oxide metabolites contents and total NO synthases activity has been established. Herewith a more pronounced intensification of nitroxydergic processes was observed in rats on the 28th day after the common bile duct ligation

Аннотация: Decompensation of diabetes mellitus type 2 (T2DM), duration of the disease, level of proteinuria, obesity and essential arterial hypertension (AH) play the main role in the development and progress of diabetic nephropathy
Our retrospective study indicates that serum uric acid level is markedly elevated and positively associated with albuminuria in type 2 diabetic patients with comorbid obesity and AH and can be used as a biomarker allowing further risk stratification for development and/or progress of diabetic nephropathy in this cohort of the patients
Декомпенсація цукрового діабету (ЦД) 2 типу, тривалість захворювання, рівень протеїнурії, ожиріння та ессенціальна артеріальна гіпертензія (АГ) відіграють основну роль у розвитку та прогресуванні діабетичної нефропатії
Наше ретроспективне дослідження вказує на те, що вміст сечової кислоти в сироватці крові пацієнтів з ЦД 2 типу з коморбідним ожирінням та АГ виражено підвищується і прямо корелює з альбумінурією і може використовуватися як біомаркер для стратифікації ризику розвитку та/або прогресування діабетичної нефропатії у цих пацієнтів
