The therapy algorithm chosen by the authors is early-surgery approach with cataract phacoemulsification and relocation of Ozurdex to the vitreous body, which showed positive clinical effect
Описан клинический случай – непреднамеренное интралентикулярное введение импланта дексаметазона при лечении рефрактерного диабетического макулярного отека. Проведен литературный поиск по проблеме лечения данного осложнения. Выбран алгоритм терапии - ранний хирургический подход с факоэмульсификацией катаракты и дислокацией импланта Озурдекса в стекловидное тело, при котором отмечен положительный клинический результат

Анотація: Ca2+-regulating system in cancer cells is suggested to be remodulated particularly by reduced store-operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) through plasma membrane in order to maintain moderately reduced cytosolic Ca2+ concentration and to avoid apoptosis. The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) Ca2+ pool content and the size of SOCE in leukemic wild type (L1210) and resistant to cisplatin (L1210R) cells in control, after treatment with either cisplatin (1 µg/ml) or photoexcited fulleren C60 (10-5 M) alone, or their combination were estimated with the use of Indo-1 AM. The SOCE in resistant to cisplatin L1210R cells was found to be lower than in the wild-type cells. After treatment with cisplatin the decrease of thapsigargin (TG)-sensitive ER Ca2+ pool with no significant increase of SOCE was observed in L1210 cells, while no changes were detected in L1210R cells. Photoexcitation of intracellular accumulated fullerene C60 in the visible range of spectrum (410-700 nm) was accompanied by increase of SOCE not only in sensitive, but in resistant cells as well. In resistant L1210R cells treated with photoexcited C60 essential effect of cisplatin on Ca2+ homeostasis became obvious: the size of SOCE proved to be higher than after treatment with photoexcited C60 alone. The data obtained allow suggesting the influence of photoexcited C60 not only on Ca2+-regulating system, but on those involved in controlling cisplatin entry into drug resistant cancer cells

Анотація: Cadmium, has been used for many years in industry and agriculture. Its active use is associated with a danger to human health due to a significant toxic effect on the body. The purpose of the review was to analyze the literature data and the results of our own experimental research on the biochemical mechanisms of the toxic effect of cadmium on the nuclear chromatin of cells, primarily the liver. Based on this analysis, the concept that the toxicity of cadmium is associated with damage caused by cadmium-induced free radicals was confirmed. The reactive oxygen species formed in this way are active damaging agents that cause toxic effects, including mutagenic, which ultimately leads to apoptosis and cell death

У дослідженні на підставі статистичного аналізу комплексу клініко-лабораторних, анамнестичних та імунологічних показників 495 хворих з порушеннями імунітету на тлі онкогематологічної патології визначені предиктори розвитку пневмоній і створена регресійна логістична модель прогнозу розвитку пневмоній, куди увійшли показники, які характеризують перебіг онкогематологічного захворювання і стан імунної системи

Анотація: The obtained data testify to the features of HIV-associated diseases of the CNS in patients over the age of 50 years. In this age group, the number of people infected with sexualroute of transmission was significantly higher than among younger people, the HIV infection was diagnosed later and, accordingly, fewer patients received ART. At the time of the development of neurological diseases in patients over 50, a higher level of RNA HIV viral load was observed in the absence of statistically significant immunological differences. In this group, high chances of developing PML, EBV-encephalitis, cognitive impairment, and a tendency towards higher incidence of stroke are identified, which can lead to severe consequences, and underlines the importance of a more detailed consideration of the age aspect
Отримані дані свідчать про особливості ВІЛ-асоційованих захворювань ЦНС у пацієнтів старше 50 років. У даній віковій категорії число осіб, інфікованих статевим шляхом, було значно більше, ніж серед молодших осіб, ВІЛ-інфекцію було діагностовано пізніше і, відповідно, менша кількість пацієнтів отримувала АРТ. На момент розвитку неврологічних захворювань у пацієнтів старше 50 років спостерігався більший рівень RNA HIV viralload при відсутності статистично значущих імунологічних відмінностей. В даній групі визначені високі шанси розвитку ПМЛ, EBV-енцефалітів, когнітивних розладів і тенденцію до більшої частоти інсультів, що може призводити до тяжких наслідків, і підкреслює важливість більш детального обліку вікового аспекту.
